On September 1, 2023, the Texas Chapter was conceived and the initial few members wasted no time in organizing an event. In just 17 days, they held the Rally for the Climate Emergency at the state capitol, in solidarity with the NYC March to End Fossil Fuels that was occurring at the same time. After a virtual meet and greet in November, we were born with our first General Meeting on January 3, 2024. Our chapter has hosted virtual and in-person speaker programs such as Fighting For Our Planet, sponsored a Plastic Free July team, the Laudato Si’ Reading Challenge, and participated in the Catholic Advocacy Day at the state capitol. Our chapter reaches out to the 14 dioceses in Texas regularly. Currently, we are preparing for the Pilgrimages of Hope for Creation that our members are helping to organize. We’re growing bigger in Texas!
