Laudato Si’ Movement Korea was launched in 2020 and has been active for nearly four years. It started as the Global Catholic Climate Movement Korea(GCCM Korea) and changed its name to the Laudato Si’ Movement Korea(LSM Korea) in 2023. LSM Korea has been held ‘Friday Climate Action’ every Friday at Gwanghwamun in Seoul and operates basic and advanced courses every year to train Laudato Si’ Animator. In addition, it has been carrying out the ‘Samcheok Recovery Project’ in solidarity with activists, where a coal-fired power plant is under construction, for about two years. LSM Korea achieves harmony between prayer and action through monthly online prayer meetings and conducts online meetings and sharing events for Anmators. LSM Korea connects with networks inside and outside the church through various events during Laudato Si’ Week and Season of Creation every year.
