September 1, 2023, the Texas Chapter was conceived and the initial few members wasted no time in organizing an event. In just 17 days, they held the Rally for the Climate Emergency at the state capitol, in solidarity with the NYC March to End Fossil Fuels that was occurring at the same time. After a virtual Meet & Greet in November we were born with our first General Meeting on January 3, 2024. Our chapter has hosted virtual and in-person speaker programs such as Fighting For Our Planet held at Texas A&M; sponsored a Plastic Free July team and the Laudato Si’ Reading Challenge and participated in the Catholic Advocacy Day at the state capitol. Our chapter reaches out to the 14 dioceses in Texas regularly, providing them with all the information of what is happening within the state regarding Care for Creation such as Pilgrimages of Hope for Creation that our members are helping to organize. We’re growing bigger in Texas!
