Kevin Moynihan is a documentary film producer and videographer in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
He has just released his fifth short film about Canadian responses to Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ and
Laudate Deum. The film, 10th Anniversary of Laudato Si’ is a 25-minute video that features a 7-minute
summary of the main themes of Laudato Si’ through images and excerpts from the Encyclical, followed
by a 16-minute presentation of three parish or diocesan based projects that illustrate what is possible in
response to the question “What are we doing for Our Common Home?” Featured, is Marcel Lamonde
speaking about the installation of multiple geothermal heating and cooling systems in the Diocese of
Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, Québec.
Moynihan has included links to Homiletic reflections from Bishop Jon Hansen of Mackenzie-Fort Smith
Diocese in the North West Territories, Archbishop Donald Bolen of the Archdiocese of Regina,
Saskatchewan, and Bishop Alain Faubert, Valleyfield Diocese in the Province of Québec.
Moynihan’s films speak to Canadian’s commitment to bring a Catholic lens to the climate crisis. They are
accessible and engaging and provide wonderful inspiration for everyone working to care for our
common home.
Moynihan’s earlier films about Pope Francis’s environmental writings are:
Laudato Deum – Apostolic Exhortation to All People of Good Will
Update on COP 29 with Caroline Brouillette, Dec. 4, 2025
